Life's Too Short - Slow Down and Enjoy The View
You can’t smell the flowers if you’re driving past them at 90 MPH. I know this seems like a depressing kind of post for my blog but it is just what’s on my mind as of late. Please do stay with me and read on.
My family has been through a lot in the past couple of years, what with my father in law battling cancer a few times, having a kidney removed, half a foot removed etc. He is still fighting and I have to give the man credit, he is a fighter and tries his best to remain positive. We have also had a few deaths to deal with as well. Not that my situation is any worse than anyone else but it’s things like this that will make you pause and think about life, make you reflect. As we get older it seems that the time passes quicker and quicker with each year. I know that life is busy for everyone and this is just what happens but if we don’t slow down and enjoy the view, it will just completely pass us by.
I know I am not the first one to think or write my thoughts down about this nor will I be the last. In light of all this happening I have made a promise to myself to make a valiant effort to slow down and enjoy the view, smell the flowers and spend time with the people that matter most in my life. Make memories that will last a lifetime, enjoy the time we have here on this earth because in the grand scheme of things it’s not really that long.
For me as a photographer, making memories is the same as making pictures, they just get stored and preserved a little bit differently than they do when you use a camera.
