Carm Viola Episode

In the latest episode of the Empowerography Podcast, my guest is Carm Viola. Carm Viola is a sought out registered psychotherapist and registered early childhood educator who has been working in children's mental health for over 30 years, working with children from birth to 18. In this episode we discuss children’s mental health, mental health awareness, support teams and family, removing the stigma of mental health and resilience.

Carm Viola is a sought out registered psychotherapist and registered early childhood educator who has been working  in children's mental health for over 30 years, working with children from birth to 18.  She is the cofounder of the Delvio Parent Child Clinic, a private practice, since 2006 and also works in a west end, Toronto based children mental health agency.

Carm offers support to children and their families  in the areas of speech and language, anxiety, selective mutism, self-regulation and other mental health concerns. 

Carm has developed and championed many prevention programs for children from birth to 10 years old.  She is a certified anxiety group facilitator, since 2008.  She has co-authored a new children's social emotional learning program.   She has delivered programs in both treatment and classroom settings to over 5000 children. She  provides guidance and support to parents as they navigate the daily interactions with their children. Teaching parents and professionals strategies and techniques from a brain based model.  She provides professional training  through City Wide organization and has  presented at many mental health conferences.

Carm is a mental health advocate, who has raised over $120,000.  She has been featured in the Neighbours of  Woodbridge Magazine, sits on The Waves of Changes for Autism Board and been interviewed on 960am The Rush hour talk show.

Her experience in working with children and their families continues because she believes every child and family deserves a chance to grow and thrive together.
